About Us

Christian Evangelical Church in Timor was part of the "Indische Kerk" (Church of the Dutch East Indies) and became independent Chrurch, it began to build partnership with the reform Church in the Netherland, Methodist and Presbyterian Churches in Australia, and the Mennonite Church in the Unite States.
From Partnership with Mennonite Church in the USA, the Oenitu Training Center (OTC) and Tarus Training Center (TTC) were establishet in 1957 and 1959. Both are essentially the same institution that changed its name when it moved to different location. Isakh Nikolas Frans as head of the Center.
Following its First General Service Guideline¹ and First General Service Policy Guidline², in the 1980's GMIT synod formed a Deaconia Commission³ for its community development service with the support of World Vision Indinesia (WVI) which at that time, was in need of a local partner for the implementation of its programs in East Nusa Tenggara Province, and Bureau of Church Development Fellowship of The Indonesia Churches Fellowship⁴ that were also very much interested to hold training for Village Development Motivator.
